(she/her)
Hello, I'm Sakera Are you struggling with trying to stay on track? Are you struggling with figuring out why you think the way you think, why you feel the way you feel, or even why it's so hard to stay focused? I completely understand. Let me help you gain the coping skills needed to be the best you that you can be. But before, we move forward here is a little bit about me. I'm a highly motivated and dedicated mental health professional with years of experience using therapeutic techniques and working in various settings, including Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) adults, Substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, medication-assisted (MAT) treatment, and Autism. I therapeutically rely on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MT), and Mindfulness. (Mental health is Physical health)
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Teaching my clients to become self-aware is my biggest strength. But what makes it even more special is that I also teach my clients coping skills to use once they become mindful of their thoughts, feeling, and actions.
Because of my experience working in many different backgrounds, I find it easy to navigate through an array of needs.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, behavioral challenges, and everyday life struggles. My approach is helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. I work with clients to identify negative or unhealthy thinking patterns and help them develop healthier ways to cope, communicate, and respond to situations. I also believe in meeting clients where they are and creating a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and comfortable throughout the therapeutic process.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
My approach focuses on helping clients accept difficult thoughts and emotions instead of feeling like they have to fight or avoid them. I work with clients on becoming more mindful, learning healthy coping skills, and identifying their personal values so they can make choices that align with the life they want to live. I believe in creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves while working toward growth, healing, and emotional wellness.
Gestalt
y approach focuses on helping clients become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the present moment. I encourage clients to openly explore their emotions and experiences so they can better understand themselves and how past experiences may be affecting them today. I believe in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to express themselves, build self-awareness, and move toward healing and personal growth.

I love her as a therapist. She's really easy to connect with and a great listener. She makes me feel like a friend and not just another patient she's stuck listening to. She makes me feel safe and comfortable enough to open up and talk about whatever I need to, no matter how small.

Sakera is empowering and amazing to work with. I had to find a new therapist and absolutely loved my previous one so she had big shoes to fill. Shes certainly filled them. She’s seen me through a lot of life’s challenges/ changes in the last 2 years.

Sakera was amazing during our first session and it felt more of a conversation versus a lecture which I really loved about her. She is very solution oriented. However, if you just need to talk, she is willing to listen. She is very open minded on what you have going on and is willing to come up with solutions and coping mechanisms.
