About me

Hi I’m Destini a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My hope is that with every client I am able to proved them with a warm, non-judgmental, and safe space to deal with life stressors in order to create balance and to live their best life. I graduated for California State University, Sacramento’s Counseling Education Masters Program specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions of not just you but also myself. We are a team working together. Then dive into what you would like to work on and the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored/individualized plan for us to work through in sessions to come.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Doing this work for the last 10 years I have been able to gain certain strengths within this profession. The greatest of these is being able to quickly identify goals to work on and toward, leading to tangible progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients are not always sure where to begin or what exactly is going on with them but they know something needs to change. They are looking for the tools needed to make the change. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, and at times feeling low.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use Person-centered therapy to provide each person I work with a safe space to talk, realize their full potential, and make positive changes in their life. Person-centered therapy operates on the humanistic belief that the client is inherently driven toward and has the capacity for growth and realize your full potential.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been utilizing CBT for the past ten years. It helps many people challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. Together we will use it to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. Then using that information to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counseling method that involves enhancing a persons motivation to change. Helping them use the strength within themselves to change their unwanted behavior.
