Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been in the field for over twenty years. I have experience in a variety of settings and with a variety of clients. Many of the people with whom I have worked are struggling with some kind of change, whether it's children growing up, seeking abstinence from a drug or coping with divorce or our own aging process. All these changes can impact our mood and I can help a person cope with the resultant depression or anxiety for instance.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will do introductions which might include some background. This would be followed by a fuller exploration of what brings you to therapy including what is causing distress, what your goals are moving forward and might also include what you have already tried.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with a variety of people in different ages and stages of their lives and it has helped me develop a perspective and given me the experience to offer choices on how to move forward in therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love to help people with navigating the many changes that life throws at us. I find that it can be paralyzing when a change occurs and it helps to talk about it to figure out what is the next move.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In order to best connect client with a solution for their distress, I have found it useful to use these techniques.

Positive Psychology

The power of positive thinking has been found to aid in coping with life by research, in my experience as a clinician and personally.

Motivational Interviewing

I have had extensive training in Motivational interviewing due to my experience in substance abuse treatment early in my career. I have found that it is now a part of what I do naturally.
