(she/her)
Hi, I’m Diane Brown. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages — from toddlers to older adults, ages 3 to 84 and beyond. With over 32 years of experience in the field, I bring a compassionate, strength-based approach to help people navigate trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. I’m passionate about supporting you on your journey toward becoming your best self. My goal is to help you find your voice and feel truly entitled to a life filled with peace, purpose, and happiness. I earned both my BSW and MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), and I am a Trauma-Certified Therapist as well as a Registered Play Therapist. My therapy techniques are personalized to meet your unique needs, and I provide a safe, judgment-free space where you can feel empowered to express yourself and grow.
The first session with me is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, as well as about your relationships, family, and background—but there’s no pressure to share everything right away. You are not expected to reveal your deepest fears or secrets unless you feel comfortable doing so. Therapy is a process, and building a trusting relationship is one of the most important parts of that journey. We’ll move at your pace. This session is also your chance to ask me questions and make sure you feel comfortable with the process and me. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can begin your healing in a way that feels right for you.
With over 32 years of experience, I bring both deep clinical knowledge and genuine compassion to my work. One of my greatest strengths is creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and valued. My therapeutic approach is always tailored to your unique needs, drawing on a variety of evidence-based methods to support your growth and healing. I believe that every person has the capacity for change, and I’m here to help guide and support you on that journey—at your own pace.
My ideal client is any individual, couple, or family who is seeking to make positive changes or improve their life, relationships, or family dynamics. I recognize that change can be challenging, and I offer a compassionate, judgment-free, and safe environment where you can feel supported and free to express yourself.
