I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I completed my studies in Psychology in Buenos Aires, Argentina and decided to move to the US to complete my education in the field of Social Work. I received my Master’s in Social Work from Cal State University, Long Beach. I love working with adults and older adults, people who are willing to dive into the depths of their existence and search for the key to a happier and more fulfilling life. People who are in need of learning how to adjust and adapt, or are willing to commit to changing unhealthy patterns. I have a passion for working with clients who are eager to try new more effective ways of doing things.
In our first session my goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where clients can feel comfortable and understood. Through empathic and non-judgmental listening, clients show where they are at and begin to open up about their reason for seeking help. We would talk about treatment modality and therapist style and make sure client and therapist are a good match. Then together we collaboratively identify treatment goals and a plan to work through In follow-up sessions.
Having worked as a therapist for the past 23 years I can say with confidence that my strengths as a provider are my ability to connect and make people feel safe so that they can open up. I have a passion for this work and a commitment to do my best to help my clients become the best version of themselves. I am also bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural, which allows me to reach a greater number of people on a deeper level.
I love working with Adults and Older Adults dealing with trauma , grief , attachment issues, anxiety and depression. However, as I am an immigrant myself, working with immigrants and refugees that are having difficulty acculturating is my specialty. I have also seen great success with individuals searching for a healthier , happier and more fulfilling lifestyle.
I have experience working with adults and older adults dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety disorder, and grief. Educating patients about the connection between their thoughts , feelings and their actions. Helping identify unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns to help them develop into a better version of themselves. Reducing symptoms, impairments and overall enhancing their capacity to live a purposeful and meaningful life.
I have experience providing both group and individual grief counseling. I’ve develop an understanding about the complexities of grief and traumatic grief and I have great empathy for the intense pain associated with it.
