Hello! I hold dual certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, and I'm licensed in both Maryland and Washington, DC. I earned my Doctorate Degree from Brandman University, now known as the University of Massachusetts Global, graduating with honors. This academic achievement reflects my dedication to learning and staying at the forefront of healthcare practices. With over a decade of experience in practice, I bring a wealth of expertise, compassion, and empathy to my patients.
I provide a therapeutic, comfortable, and empathetic environment where patients are comfortable to express themselves and develop a health rapport between Provider and patient. I utilized active listening skills, therapeutic communication, adeptness in motivation interviewing, and establishing non-judgmental environment where patient feel comfortable and supported to be comfortable in their own skin. I use Shuler’s Nursing Theory Model that encompass collaboration in decision-making between the patient and myself using evidence-based treatment plan.
With over a decade working in different specialty settings in the healthcare field, I understand the importance of holistic wellness and the importance of living a quality life. As a trained Nurse, we were taught the in-depth importance of assessment, intervention, and evaluation and the significance of utilizing this process to identify the root cause of a problem and create an individualized plan that leads to measureable progress.
With nearly a decade of experience, I am a dual-certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to delivering compassionate, culturally competent, and evidence-based care to patients of all age groups. My focus on patient satisfaction and achieving effective outcomes underscores my commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
I employ motivational interviewing techniques to establish and cultivate rapport with my patients. Through collaboration, I work with patients on their care, incorporating their input into the care plan. This approach empowers patients, enhances their intrinsic motivation for change, fosters a therapeutic relationship based on empathy and respect, and ultimately improves medication adherence and treatment outcomes.
