(she/her)
New to Grow
Hello. My name is Ime Caldwell (she/her). I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming Licensed Professional Counselor. I attended OU to receive a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have furthered my education post graduation by taking continuing education trainings in PTSD, crisis intervention skills, ACT and EMDR. I also have specific adoption competency training to serve my clients within the adoption-kinship network.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and seeing if we feel like a good fit to work together. You’ll complete consent forms so that you understand your rights and the therapy process. We’ll also go through a biopsychosocial assessment, which is a set of questions about your history, current concerns, and goals. This helps me get a full picture of your experiences and what support might be most helpful. By the end of intake, we’ll have a plan for moving forward together.
As a therapist, I bring a deep sense of empathy that allows clients to feel heard and understood. I am straightforward in my approach, offering honesty and clarity that helps clients make meaningful progress. My own self-awareness supports me in remaining present and reflective in the therapeutic process. I value and model healthy boundary setting, which fosters a safe and respectful therapeutic relationship. Together, these strengths create a supportive yet structured environment for growth and healing.
I work with adolescents, families and young adults. I have specific training in treating: anxiety, PTSD, trauma surrounding the adoption-kinship network, LGBTQIA+ related issues and crisis intervention. We all struggle; let me help you process your issues and partner together in order to find realistic, appropriate solutions that work for you. I utilize an integrative therapy modality. My goal is to treat each client as the individual they are and provide the highest quality of therapy.
EMDR
I utilize EMDR with adolescent and adult clients to assist in the processing of trauma. I have been EMDRIA trained and plan to continue furthering my skills through working toward my certification.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I utilize ACT with all of my clients. I like to assist clients in accepting their emotions and learning to defuse from their emotions rather than pushing away or trying to change how they are feeling. I have received continuous training in ACT with Dr. Russ Harris for the past 2 years.
Attachment-based
I am a trauma informed adoption competent therapist who has a passion for working with those within the adoption-kinship network. I have received and am receiving ongoing training through the Center for Adoption Support and Education. I understand that developmental trauma is real and want to partner with you to manage and work through it with you from a trauma informed, attachment focused integrative therapy lens.
