Hi. My name is Nicole Purwin, and I’m an LCSW licensed in the state of NJ. I have over 20 years of experience working in mental health with a multitude of clientele and their loved ones. I am a graduate of both Fordham University and Rutgers University. In my practice and artistry, I strive to provide a therapeutic safe space where all clients truly feel seen, heard and non-judged. I integrate my style and treatment dependent upon each individual and their wants/needs. I am additionally LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcome all. I am an active participant in treatment if wanted/appropriate, welcome feedback every session and incorporate humor, experience, compassion, and humility in my style. I truly appreciate and honor being allowed to accompany a person through this journey we call life.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In the first therapeutic session, expectations include an introduction of self with clinical background experience, building a foundation of trust within the therapeutic relationship, discussing confidentiality and boundaries, and identifying goals and concerns. I gather background information, and it’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and express your own expectations. Additionally, I include humor and incorporation of relaxation techniques to add a sense of enjoyment and balance to the session, fostering a more holistic approach to mental well-being.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Some of my greatest strengths in treatment include: my adaptable style, clinical knowledge, authentic listening, emotional safety provided, and acknowledgment of one’s experiences. My style is very open, sincerely honest and empathetic. Allow me the opportunity to show you.
