Hi, I'm Katie, a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and curiosity. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and Strengths-Based Therapy to support clients in building resilience, improving emotional well-being, and achieving meaningful personal goals. My style is collaborative, supportive, and focused on creating a safe space where you can feel heard and empowered.
In our first session, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing what’s brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals, any current challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to get out of our work together. I’ll also ask some background questions to get a fuller picture of your experiences, and we’ll discuss what therapy might look like moving forward. Most importantly, it’s a time for us to begin building a trusting, collaborative relationship.
My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a warm, nonjudgmental space and building strong therapeutic relationships that help clients feel safe and understood. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, combining evidence-based methods like CBT with a strengths-based perspective to support meaningful, lasting change. Clients often share that they feel empowered, more self-aware, and better equipped to manage life’s challenges after our work together.
My ideal client is someone who feels ready to explore what’s beneath the surface of their struggles; whether that’s anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in life transitions. They’re seeking a compassionate space to be heard and understood without judgment. Their goal is often to gain deeper self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and build more fulfilling connections with themselves and others. They want to feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their emotional well-being because they’re ready to move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.
I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. In my practice, I tailor CBT interventions to each client's unique needs, using tools like thought records and psychoeducation to support lasting change.
I integrate Strengths-Based Therapy by helping clients recognize and build on their existing strengths, resilience, and personal resources. This approach allows clients to shift focus from problems to possibilities, fostering empowerment and self-efficacy. I often incorporate this method alongside CBT to highlight progress, encourage motivation, and support long-term growth.
