Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Virginia. I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Radford University in 2014 and have been licensed since 2017. I focus on helping adults to cope with grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and stressful/life transitions. I have worked with countless adults who have struggled with their challenging life circumstances and supported their journey to having a more full and authentic life. My current work with adults is often focused on grief/loss, depression, anxiety, stressful situations, and life transitions. We all carry a unique experience that are filled with strengths and opportunities for mental health growth. I appreciate the courage it takes to share your story and your deepest concerns. My belief is that therapy should feel like a mutual growth and discovery process, with you as the leader. With years of experience, I have been able to help individuals to work on their life challenges as well as develop a mental health growth and living a more full and comfortable life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will follow your lead while exploring your story, your needs, and your hopes. We will have a conversation about your story and explore what you want to get out of from this experience. We will move forward at your own pace to create a plan together that feels safe and true to you. A mindful, Strengths-Based perspective will be the foundation of our work, but my therapeutic framework will shift based on your needs and preferences.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths is allowing clients to lead their own sessions and to give them a safe space to open up and address different life circumstances they are experiencing.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My primary focus is working with adults ages 18 and up who experience struggles with grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and stressful/life transitions.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have at least 9 years of experience using this type of treatment method. I use this to help clients in coming up with solutions, including exploring strengths and coping skills, to help with being able to cope with emotional symptoms as well as life stressors. I also use this to explore acceptance of things that are out of one's control as well as change things that are in one's control.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have at least 8 years of experiencing using this type of treatment method. I use this method to explore an individual's thought processes and identify any unhealthy thinking patterns as well as behaviors that follow these patterns. Once we identify those patterns, we explore different ways to challenge these unhealthy thinking patterns and turn them into more healthier thinking patterns. This method helps individuals feel more comfortable with their overall way of thinking once the unhealthy patterns have been identified.

EMDR

I recently completed a 40 hour training on Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy model in 2022 as well as an additional 10 hours of consultation in using this method. I use this method to help individuals process and health from traumatic or disturbing events they have experienced, whether these have been experienced recently or in the past. I use a bilateral stimulation method (including tapping) to process the event(s) in order to change emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that result from the event(s). Clients who I have used this method on have reported a significant difference in how they feel overall regarding their disturbing events after completion.

Grief Therapy

I have at least 7 years experience in providing this type of method. I use this method to help individuals process their loss as well as explore healthy ways to cope with this loss. Every loss has it's significance and I enjoy being able to help individuals process this and moving through through their own grief cycle.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I have at least 9 years of experience using this method. I use this method to help clients cope with grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and stressful/life transitions.
