New to Grow
I'm an eclectic clinician drawing from multiple modalities and methods to support and assist clients with their needs and goals. My life experience and background, including extensive history working in community mental health, which guided me to learn how to quickly identify issues and solutions. I use insight, warmth, curiosity, intelligence and humor to keep the therapeutic experience as pleasant as possible.
You can expect a warm supportive place where you're met with compassion, curiosity and zero judgment. First sessions allow us to begin to get to know one another and build rapport, which is where the real work & progress takes place.
I have had a varied work & personal life that has exposed to all manner of people and experiences. I'm a warm and compassionate listener, and I don't shy away from the "hard" conversations, but will always be willing to learn from clients.
I work exclusively with individual clients and DO NOT offer couples therapy through Grow. For couples or family therapy, you are welcome to inquire about sessions with me using private pay outside of Grow. Clients range from a variety of backgrounds, struggling with anxiety, depression, issues of identity and gender, sexuality and family issues. I enjoy working with motivated clients who have clear therapy goals.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is one of the more broadly applied treatment methods I use, and works well with other modalities as needed. I've had fairly extensive and successful experience using ACT with a wide variety of clients.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
A very important part of effective therapy includes cultural sensitivity and humility. Understanding a client's cultural background is essential in good treatment.
Eclectic
Using a blend of modalities and methods is important, in order to learn what is most effective with each individual client. Many treatment methods work best when blended with others; my eclectic approach allows me to customize treatment plans and outcomes for all types of clients.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Sometimes known as "parts work", IFS can assist clients dealing with past trauma, allowing them to heal and integrate in a way that allows for more satisfying and effective outcomes.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing allows a client-driven approach to therapy, through series of explorations of clients' behaviors, thoughts & feelings.
