I work with people to achieve their stated goals as well as to reach their fullest potential. I am a partner with my clients in their care, and therapy only ever moves at the client's pace. From intake to treatment planning to ongoing work, I find that partnership is a positive way to help clients work through their presenting issues, and to find ways to improve their lives overall.

Welcome to our space! In our time together we will address your concerns, as well as explore and highlight your personal strengths and attributes. I feel this is something we all neglect and these can be very empowering and key to working through our daily stressors. My style as a therapist is eclectic and energetic. Therapy can be a potent experience, but I am here to help accommodate the tears, toil, frustration, humor and other emotions that you cannot or may not wish to share with others. The world, our jobs, finances, and other obstacles are some of the many things that can zap our valuable mental and physical energy in a day. Burnout is more real now than ever before. Coming here is a way to recharge yourself so that you can be more present in the most important areas of your life and enjoy it in the process. We work together to develop skills and outlets in which to manage these stressors. You can become the most positive, healthy version of yourself. I welcome the pleasure of working with people from many different cultures and backgrounds, and I am an avid supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been working 100 percent virtually. This direction in therapy has allowed me to interact with more people that are not within my geographical location. When a person is in an environment where they feel most comfortable, they are better able to express themselves. My source of empowerment comes from my husband and our enjoyment in caring for our animals. We have a good start on a boring zoo.. (dogs, cats, chickens, fish). They are my reason for working from home. For me, being outdoors and caring for animals is very therapeutic as well as rewarding.

I’m excited to get to know you better! In the meantime, here’s a little about me, and my professional experience and training. I think one of the biggest challenges, after taking that first brave step of reaching out, is to find a good therapist that you connect with. In my twenty-plus years of experience, the therapeutic relationship is the principal reason that therapy “works” or “doesn’t work.” My therapeutic style focuses on first developing a strong therapeutic alliance in which you feel emotionally safe and heard without judgment. You’ve already come to the conclusion that something in your life is not working, and my task is to help you to identify the ways in which you’d like things to be different. From there, together we can create realistic, achievable goals that support those changes and move you toward the life that you deserve. I have a large repertoire of strategies and interventions, which include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and motivational interviewing. Producing insights, strategies, and tools that you can use immediately is the goal of every interaction I have with you. I have extensive experience in trauma, anxiety, relationship issues (adult as well as parent-child), substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. I have found that many people experiencing trauma or anxiety are helped by a combination of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. This teaches them how to tolerate their intense feelings and how to reframe unhelpful thought patterns that keep them stuck. On a personal note, I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1997 and have worked with a variety of clients in many different settings. When I’m not helping people, I can usually be found on the golf course or outdoors. I look forward to helping you to make the changes you desire.

The professional stuff first, I’m a licensed clinical social worker licensed to practice mental health diagnosis and treatment in Kentucky, Vermont, and Florida. I have 12+ years of independent practice and gained experience in a variety of settings and across all age groups, eventually honing my skills and training towards my preferred area of practice in the realm of trauma and the resulting disruptions in relationship to self and others. I’m a human being and began my own healing journey in my late teens. A journey to rebuild my relationship with self which involved identifying damaging beliefs and patterns of interacting with myself, my emotions, my humanity, my sexuality, my spirituality, etc., and replacing them with beliefs that support a better relationship with self. I’ve remained committed to healing as a lifelong endeavor of self-evaluation. One in which I’m consistently challenged towards calculated risks, recommitting to guiding principles of self-trust, faith and commitment to my values. I'm a certified partner trauma therapist through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals, a special education that allows me to treat individuals who've experienced betrayal within intimate relationships. My approach is eclectic, piecing together various therapies to meet the needs of the patient. Congratulations on taking this step towards healing. No action taken towards healing, large or small, is wasted as every action taken on your behalf is a message from you that you matter- to you.

My journey to counseling has been both personal and professional. Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly two decades working in the nonprofit world—helping people navigate challenges, systems, and life transitions. In my 30s, I went back to school to earn my master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I’ve been practicing since 2014, seeing clients in person through 2020 and virtually ever since. Along the way, I’ve experienced my own seasons of loss, grief, family challenges, and major life transitions—including surviving cancer. Those experiences gave me a deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for help and the strength required to keep moving forward. I bring that understanding into every session, creating a space that is compassionate, grounded, and genuinely human. I am licensed in both Florida and Vermont and currently offer virtual therapy for adult women who are navigating life transitions—whether building their careers, managing family responsibilities, or moving through midlife changes. I also work with clients who are struggling with symptoms like anxiety, depression, trauma, and challenges related to chronic illness. I am licensed in both Florida and Vermont, and practice 100% virtual therapy.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I’m" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
