I was in the United States Marine Corps from 1998-2003 and during this time I learned a great deal about myself and became more culturally diverse. During my third year of service, I was injured at Officers Candidate School and realized that I needed to develop my counseling skills, so I worked with an agency that counseled teens regarding their addiction. I have been in the social services field for the past twenty years and have been licensed for the past 10 years. When I got out of the Marines in 2003, I went home to North Carolina and my father passed away three days later unexpectedly so, I needed a job and I was able to use my previous years working with teens and became a supervisor at Sipes Orchard Home took in unwanted children from parents, Level II and Level IV agencies, and the Department of Children and Families. After being here at this facility for two years I left as they weren't following the Medicaid standards. I left the agency and went to work for The Cognitive Connection as the Prevention Supervisor providing preventive services for teens and was part of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) providing groups to adults. I worked with Cognitive Connection for three years and left to go to Pensacola, Florida because I had heard they were starting a MSW program. I felt hopeful as I knew getting my master’s in social work would change my life forever. After I finished the MSW program I immediately started working for Lakeview Services in Adult Outpatient Community Mental Health and then worked in the Drug Court program. I stayed here for three years until I got a job with the DoD in Oklahoma because my wife was trying to get a federal job, so I moved to support her and my family. While working with the DoD I was able to get my supervision for licensing, created an anger management program for the DoD, and stayed until my LCSW license was finalized in December of 2013. When I came back to Florida I worked for Volunteers of America for a couple of years until a federal job opened at Veterans Affairs in Pensacola, FL, in August of 2016. I have been licensed in Florida for the past 10 years, recently became licensed in Texas and Oklahoma. I have some clients who are in therapy with me for several weeks to several months depending on their individual needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Hello, I am Shari. Are you looking for someone you can feel safe to address your needs and not feel judged? Are you looking for someone authentic and supportive? Are you having difficulty finding someone who will be honest and direct? I work well with anyone who is motivated to start addressing their concerns right away. I believe finding the right therapist can be challenging, but it should not be a barrier to getting help. Finding a therapist should feel comfortable and natural. I am told I have a way of helping people feel as if they have known me before. I like to get an understanding of the source of your problem. Then together we explore how the source influences your thinking. People live life through their experiences which do not always serve us very well in today's time. I also believe in working from a holistic approach. Did you know our daily routines can prolong your recovery or cause mental instability? I have experienced being in a therapeutic relationship and believe in normalizing the need to get help in this way.

Do you feel like you've lost your way, your purpose and identity, or just need to get back on track? Hello! My name is Erie, and I'd love to help you. Social workers typically have an interesting life story and personal experiences with tragedy that tug at our heartstrings. I am no different. At times, I wonder "how is it that I have survived these mountains and valleys?" Despite personal tragedy, loss, and despair, influential people have served as beacons of hope throughout the years in my life. To quote an innovative, and at the time, social outcast, Bill W., he stated: "there is nothing that can replace the power of one alcoholic helping another." Just as this infectious feeling of compassion spreads inside of us as we help another, I began my journey in social work in the most unlikely of places- inside the rooms of AA and NA. Along with my re-creation of self through school, internships, and certifications, I have learned one basic human tenant that would be my guiding light through the most challenging of times: people need people. I realize that this sounds a bit rudimentary, but this is the cornerstone of social work and the secret to my success in beating the statistical odds that accompany a survivor of childhood abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism, military combat trauma, and the loss of a child. So, the question stands: why am I here and what do I want? I simply want to pay it forward as many have done for me. I would have never expected to be where I am or doing what I'm doing. I personally believe that there is hope and light in the most desperate, dark places and recesses of the human soul. For that reason, I bet on the underdog, society's undeserving, and those with whom all other plans have failed. I find that my reward and inner satisfaction comes with doing for others when all else has failed and all others have given up. For this reason, I will keep doing for others, because they are worth it.

I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed in Florida, Texas, Iowa and Wisconsin, who has worked in outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential and inpatient settings, in mental health, addiction and eating disorder fields. My approach in therapy integrates holistic, expressive, developmental attachment theory and traditional evidence-based approaches. Prior to graduate school, I worked in the art field and continues to integrate expressive arts into her practice with clients. I received my Master of Clinical Social Work degree from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2014. During graduate school and since graduation, my focus has been on trauma resolution. I was trained in Rapid Resolution therapy in 2017 and have used the techniques with clients in a variety of settings. Although I enjoy working with clients on a variety of issues, my specialization is in eating disorders, mood and trauma-related disorders with 3+ years experience working in higher levels of care in the eating disorder field. Hello! I am a Doctor of Marriage & Family Therapy and currently a Licensed Professional Counselor. I currently have 8 years of counseling/clinical experience. As a LPC, my style is warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate. I use a mix of solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and person-centered therapies. I aim to make clients feel comfortable and at ease while being attentive and open. I specialize in both outpatient and inpatient services treating military/veteran populations, PTSD/trauma, substance abuse disorders and addiction, co-occurring disorders, anxiety/depression/stress, ADHD, sports psychology and performance anxiety with student/professional athletes, and family/couples/relational and intimate relationships. Additionally, I have specialized experience in conducting clinical assessments of substance abuse patients, formulating behavioral health treatment plans, providing professional counseling to substance abuse patients, treating psychological conditions associated with medical complications, performing biopsychosocial/psychological evaluations of clients, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy for adolescents, teenagers, adults, couples, and family populations. There are countless theories, modalities, and orientations in the therapy world. This can be very confusing for those who simply are unsure what fits them. My biggest takeaway from this journey of mine is that it is not so much about a theory but rather active listening, creating context, and simply being there with the individual(s) looking for different perspectives to help guide a client to move forward is really what therapy is all about. I look forward to guiding you on your journey of faith, hope and wellness!
