Life these days can feel like you are on a roller coaster that doesn’t stop. This can lead to having very intense emotions, ones that feel overwhelming, scary, hopeless. Maybe you are feeling extreme loneliness? Feeling so stressed that it’s hard to focus, or you just don’t feel like doing much of anything lately. Intense negative feelings can affect your relationships, sleep, and job or school performance. For some, anxiety or sadness can lead to outbursts of anger or feelings of worthlessness inside. It is important to learn about yourself, what is causing these feelings, and to know that there are solutions. I have worked with adolescents and adults for many years to to gain control of their lives. By building a safe and supportive environment for people to learn about themselves and to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions, I help my clients identify these issues more clearly and work to find realistic solutions to their problems. In these more stressful times it is understandable to feel out of sorts and to reach out for help. There is no shame in this, as a matter of fact it takes great courage to do so. I provide a safe caring environment through online therapy. You can begin the process of learning about yourself from your home. You can begin to heal, return to being productive

Everyone deserves to feel heard and believed. One of my first goals in working with you will be to discuss how to create a space and relationship where you feel safe and respected while coming up with a plan to meet your unique needs. Therapy with me is not a place where you are given band-aids. While many techniques I employ can help in the immediate, our goal is to find long-lasting change. This may be uncomfortable or difficult at times, but through that discomfort comes deeper understanding and insight, and ultimately a more healed and meaningful existence. Every human being is unique and you deserve to experience therapy that fits your unique needs rather than a one sized fits all approach. I am trained in a variety of evidence based treatment methods including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma informed modalities and will work with you in our sessions to find what works best for you.

I have worked in mental health/social work for over 15 years. I am a problem solver and advocate by nature. I specialize in life transitions (including but not limited to graduating, getting married, having a child, changing careers), depression, anxiety and trauma. I am a cognitive behavior therapist by training. I work with individuals to identify thoughts and behaviors that are inhibiting their lives and to restructure these thoughts to be more beneficial. The ultimate goal is to find more helpful ways of thinking so you can live with more ease and happiness. I am also trained in dance/movement therapy and study the body and movements to understand how you are feeling and your history. I predominantly provide verbal therapy but if you are open to movement work, I will provide movement-based interventions and body-based mindfulness practices. I am passionate about women's rights and enjoy working with women to identify thoughts and behaviors ingrained by society and how to change them for more freedom and balance. I also specialize in working with mothers (working, on-the-go or at-home). I'm a Mom of two and often rely on my personal experience as a tool in therapy. I like to work with mothers to find balance in their lives and to transition into motherhood with ease.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take EAP:Evernorth?

Yes! If you use EAP:Evernorth you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have EAP:Evernorth you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
