Welcome!! I am Carolyn Adams. I am a dedicated and compassionate clinician with a heart-felt commitment to foster change in individuals lives. I have worked with individual adults and families. Many of my clients are new to therapy and comes from diverse backgrounds. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help you work through the challenges that may be showing up in your life. I am a clinical social worker who provides individual therapy for adults. Over the course of my 20 plus year career, I have worked in various settings with a variety of client populations and concerns (anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, self-esteem, assertive communication, adjustment to major life changes, and relationship concerns). As a therapist my role is to provide a non-judgmental, safe environment for individuals to explore their life issues and support them in their personal growth. I find that a lot of us struggle with listening to our inner critic and often beat ourselves up for past regrets, as well as spending a lot of valuable time worrying about the past and the "what if's" in the future. I hope we can work together to quiet this critic and find a way to enjoy the present.
Please note that my education and experience does not include working with clients presenting with eating disorders, complex PTSD/trauma, or OCD.
I am a compassionate and client-centered practitioner dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals. I believe that growth happens in a safe, respectful environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
With a focus on practical tools and deeper self-understanding, I work to help clients build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and move toward the life they want to live.
Sometimes in our lives, we will have experiences that will require some form of intervention. Together, let's explore healthy interventions.
Trauma doesn't have to mean catastrophic.
My goal is to provide a safe space. To assist with the development or refinement of skills that will allow you to explore opportunities for change.
The ability to motivate someone requires patience, understanding, and listening skills; truth and honesty. These are traits that I am empowered to bring to therapy.
