(she/her)
Growing up as a first generation Latina, I always knew that I wanted to give back to my community. Working in the mental health field fulfills that for me. I strive to help people connect and improve the relationships that they have with themselves and others. My approach is eclectic; pulling from different modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused therapy and Mindfulness. I want to say that witnessing progress and being part of the mental health journey is what inspires me to do the work but in all honesty it is an honor to be considered to be part of your healing journey, it is not easy work and I am here to provide you with the tools and compassion to overcome challenges. Being a Therapist allows me to dedicate myself to my passion for supporting the community by providing mental health services that address anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and relationship issues. When problems arise, we often forget about prioritizing ourselves and instead focus on beating ourselves down. Choosing the right therapist to embark on this journey is key to successful therapy. I provide compassion and remain curious to the thoughts, feelings and experiences so the challenges are not overwhelming and you can see light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. This mental health journey is not easy. I can provide you with unconditional acceptance, guidance so you achieve your goals and live your best life.
Before treatment can commence, a crucial part of therapy is feeling heard and understood. I am committed to ensuring a safe space where Clients can openly express their thoughts or feelings without the fear of judgment. I make the client the center and driving force of treatment. I believe in providing transparency by empowering clients to develop realistic and attainable treatment goals to ensure that they are active participants to their healing journey. I make sure to make the client feel seen and heard and it is through this space that they can continue to build agency and resiliency of their experiences.
I am very passionate for the work that I do. I will challenge you to engage in embracing the discomfort that comes with change. My approach can be described as firm but loving, focusing on identifying unhealthy patterns which might be interfering from achieving the progress you are seeking. I will help guide you to validate and normalize the unpleasant emotions that arise, through increasing self-compassion and improving primarily the relationship with yourself.
I work best with individuals who find themselves caught in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, or persistent negative thoughts. If you often feel like your inner critic is louder than your inner cheerleader, you are not alone- and you're in the right place. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed by worry, unsure of themselves, or stuck in patterns of harsh self-judgement. Together, we will work to gently untangle those patterns and build a more compassionate inner voice. My approach centers on helping you improve your self-esteem through the practice of self-compassion- learning to treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you'd offer a friend. If you are ready to begin shifting from self-criticism to self-acceptance, I am here to support you.
I In my practice, I utilize CBT to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to develop practical strategies that promote healthier thinking and coping skills. I find that it helps alleviate anxiety and depressive symptoms.
I use ACT to help my clients stop struggling with painful thoughts and feelings, and instead learn how to accept them and focus on what truly matters to them. We work collaboratively on building mindfulness and identifying values so clients can move toward a more fulfilling life.
Although I do use certain approaches, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead I use a mix of therapeutic methods to find what works best for each client. That might include practical tools for managing thoughts and behaviors, mindfulness strategies, or deeper work exploring past experiences.
