Hello. My name is John Paul and I have been a therapist for approximately eight years. I am a Latino male and I grew up in Los Angeles County. I believe in the power of therapy. I was once sad, angry and resentful as a young man and therapy was for me, a life chaning experience. I enjoy helping others in their journies to living happier and healthier lives.
Getting to know each client and what they are looking for in therapy is what clients can expect from me. I am non judgemental, understanding, caring, and will try my best to help clients feel comfortable and open to therapy. It is not easy to meet a stranger and share your life openly and I praise anyone who has the courage to get into therapy.
Understanding and personal experiences with mental illness. I grew up with mental illness in my family so I believe that makes me unique in my personal experiences with a family member who was mentally ill and learning how to deal and cope with. Also, from my experience in the field, being a male Latino therapist makes me somewhat different as well.
I have worked with a variety of clients and I am open to various cultures and ethnicities. I believe I work best with Latinos and/or multiethnic clients.
