I know that the hardest step in seeking help is finding the energy to sign up or admitting that you are ready to make a change or be uncomfortable in your vulnerability. Change is difficult but change is the only constant that I can guarantee that occurs every day. No matter what you are experiencing it is not too small or too big, because at the end of the day you are the only one in your mind/body experiencing whatever presenting problem you have and I am here to help, guide, foster, and process with you. Failure is okay and sometimes is the only place that we can truly learn and grow from that experience. I am ready and excited to work with anyone who is here to take that step. I like to make my space a safe and non-judgmental one where you can openly express yourself. I like to use a variety of techniques in sessions and tend to take a more holistic approach.
In our first session, I like to talk about how sessions will go, learn some background of what has been going on. I like to say that your life is puzzle pieces on the floor and we are working together to put it "back together" with coping skills as the invisible tape. It may not look the same as it use to but that is okay. I lIke to get to know you a little and share a little about myself to build rapport.
I think that some of my greatest strengths are that I am extremely open and ready to engage. I think that pulling from all aspects and types of techniques that I like to cater to you specially as a client, to meet you where you are. I do not think that one technique fits all.
I am ready to work with anyone but it does help if you are ready and willing to talk, it doesn't matter if we jump around, but ideally this only works when you are open and ready to communicate in sessions. In addition, I think that doing some things outside of sessions are also important because we only get an hour a week typically, the hardest work is what you do outside of your sessions.
CBT is a type of psychotherapy that helps people learn to change their thoughts and behaviors to improve their mood and well-being, through sessions we will explore maladaptive thoughts and help challenge those struggles you are facing and work to develop a more positive internal thought process.
Mindfulness-based therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps people be more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and how to respond to them in a non-judgmental way. We will work with an array of coping skills and tools that you can build in sessions to use in your every day life.
In sessions, I will do my best to be compassionate about your journey helping you discover the goals you are looking for. I will also use acceptance, neutral, positive, non-judgemental techniques.
Will work with couples to rebuild relationship goals and connect with each other, through discovering your love language, while building healthy communication skills.
Will implement various techniques such as journaling or goodbye letters in session to help foster a creative mindset to challenge our interpersonal thoughts and struggles.
