I am a Social Worker licensed in Virginia with over 14 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including: anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges. I specialize in working with POC and persons within the LGBTQ+ communities. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines ACT, psychodynamic, and motivational interviewing. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I love working with LGBTQ and POC to navigate their identity. I also specialize in working with young professionals in the first few years of their careers who are eager to improve; however, don't have the tools needed to make their goals a reality. I specialize in helping navigate their anxiety, stress, and depression as well as family dynamics and relationships, and the impact of that on mental health.

Acceptance involves acknowledging and embracing the full range of your thoughts and emotions rather than trying to avoid, deny, or alter them. I work with clients to apply the 4 A's - Awareness, Acceptance, Action, and Adherence.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Treatment is future-focused, goal-directed, and focuses on solutions, rather than on the problems. It involves a hope-friendly, positive emotion eliciting, future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotion-focused therapy is an approach designed to help clients become aware and make productive use of their emotions. I help clients learn techniques like clearing space, focusing on experiences, and feeling and expressing emotions.

Strength-based therapy focuses on the internal strengths and resourcefulness of clients as they navigate life. I help clients to highlight their strengths and resiliency.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Culturally sensitive therapy is an approach that involves understanding a client's background, ethnicity, and belief system. I respect the differences in practices, traditions, values and opinions of different cultures and integrate those differences into therapeutic treatment.
