(she/her)
I became a therapist because I have always had a passion for helping others. I strive to create a warm, supportive, nonjudgmental space in which clients can feel safe to share openly about themselves and their hardships. I take a validating and collaborative approach, and I work to ensure that each person feels heard and understood. My style is compassionate but also direct in order to help clients gently recognize patterns, gain insights, and move toward meaningful change. In therapy, we discuss many challenges and hardships, but I believe that it is just as important to the therapeutic process to discuss successes and incorporate moments of lightness and humor. Overall, I value creating a comfortable environment in which clients can feel supported as they navigate life challenges and build the skills they need to live a more fulfilling life.
I enjoy working with clients who are ready to address areas of their life in which they are not yet satisfied. Many of my clients are seeking support in understanding their emotions, improving relationships, and developing healthier ways to cope with life's challenges.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. In our work together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you from living a more fulfilling life, and develop helpful thought processes and coping skills. My approach is collaborative with a focus on helping clients build skills that they can use in their everyday lives to navigate challenges, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In my practice I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients navigate overwhelming feelings and challenging life situations. The core focuses of DBT are on helping clients build skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. In our work together, I will help you learn how to manage overwhelming feelings, address stress more effectively, and communicate your needs in a healthy and productive way.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
If you are looking for more goal oriented short term therapy, then I can help with that as well. With Solution Focused Brief Therapy, we focus on creating clear goals while utilizing your strengths, resources, and past successes. We will create small achievable steps and work together to build practical strategies to support lasting progress long after treatment ends.
