New to Grow
I'm Rosemary, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 8+ years in the helping field and 5 years providing therapy in various settings. I view therapy as a collaborative process with an overall goal of wellness. I look forward to exploring what wellness looks like for you and outlining the steps to get there. My focus is creating a safe space and providing support at whatever pace works for you through a trauma-informed, culturally humble, client-centered lens.
Our first session is a mix of getting to know you and gently mapping out what’s brought you to seek therapy. Yes, there are some standard assessment questions—some of them a little invasive—but I don’t fire them off like a checklist. I prefer to keep it conversational, at your pace, with plenty of room for you to be human (awkward pauses, tangents, dark humor—all welcome). You can expect me to listen closely, validate your experiences, and offer some insights and information. I do my best to be warm, direct, and authentic. I am human and recognize that genuine connection is important. By the end, we’ll have a clearer picture of what’s going on, and you’ll get to decide if I feel like the right fit. If I am, we’ll talk next steps. If not, that’s okay too—finding the right therapist matters.
I believe warmth, empathy and genuine care go a long way to creating a safe space and a connection that allows for healing. I am trauma-informed, client centered and truly enjoy being a part of your healing and growth. I pull from several different modalities, and elicit feedback to ensure that you are getting what you need out of sessions.
Most of my experience has been with adults with significant trauma histories, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I have experience working with people facing major life stressors, including relationship problems, financial stress, parenting challenges and unmet needs. No matter what stage of change you are in, I will meet you where you are, including if changing isn't necesarrily the goal. Sometimes a safe space to process things is all that is needed, and if that is your goal, I will hold that space.
