Hello, My name is Ben and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania. I am currently providing virtual individual psychotherapy for adults residing in the state of Pennsylvania. I utilize a variety of approaches to counseling, often pulling from multiple theories depending on client's needs. I will often use a person-centered approach to therapy as a foundation and incorporate Psychodynamic, CBT, and Experiential methods when appropriate.
In our first session, I would like to get to know you a bit. I would like to know what brought you to therapy at this point in your life. I will ask about your relationships with people currently in your life and I will ask about your past relationships with family, friends, and partners. I will also ask about other aspects of your life that would be important for me to know so I can provide the best treatment.
I am easy to talk to, very approachable, and have a good sense of humor. I try to find a good balance of showing my authentic self while maintaining boundaries with clients so they can receive the most effective care.
I feel most comfortable working with client's who have experienced emotional neglect and/or emotional abandonment as children, gay men, and people who believe they experience symptoms related to complex trauma.

Ben has been nothing but supportive of my mental health journey form day 1! He has this ability to make me feel less alone when I am struggling with a challenge that seems to be targeting only me. He is warm and compassionate but pushes me to see the good within myself, and the potential that I have. He is cohesive and breaks down the confusing "therapy lingo" into more digestible ideas.
