(she/her)
I have more than 20 years experience as a psychotherapist and clinical social worker. I care deeply about this healing profession and believe all persons are able to benefit from psychotherapy to better understand their own inner challenges and anxiety or to help them navigate through a difficult part of their lives. I understand that psychotherapy is extremely personal and there is no "one size fits all."
My goal at our first session is to understand your areas of distress. I will want to understand how much pain you are in and will screen for suicidal thinking. Together we will identify areas to focus on and decide whether to go forward with a treatment.
My experience working with many different persons of different backgrounds. I am a student of grief and loss, meaning it has been my area of study since graduate school and I have completed all courses toward obtaining a grief specialist designation.
Most of my experience has been with adults, in particular those in conflict with adult children; those experiencing chronic pain; those in grief or a major life transition and those who are caring for a loved one with dementia.

I have worked in many settings helping persons navigate challenges and stress in their lives, including all types of life changes which are as varied as life itself -- relationship issues, loss, death of a loved one, perinatal and postnatal loss. Extra interpersonal support that can be provided through therapy is often needed during these times.
I believe that the grief and loss model can be applied to many aspects of our lives.
