New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I received my Master of Education with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling from William Paterson University. I take a collaborative, integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based work. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families, especially those navigating anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My style is warm, supportive, and client-centered, and I aim to create a space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and able to explore what they’re going through at their own pace
In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy and what you’d like support with. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your concerns and background, but you only share what you feel comfortable sharing. We’ll also discuss what you’re hoping to get out of therapy and what next steps might look like. The goal is to get a clear understanding of what’s going on and make sure it feels like a good fit to work together.
What tends to stand out about my approach is my attentiveness and the time I take to help clients feel comfortable and understood in session. I pay close attention to each client’s needs and what they’re expressing, and I adjust my approach to meet them where they are. I also bring a great deal of patience to my work, recognizing that the therapeutic process takes time and looks different for everyone.
I have experience working with young children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. I especially enjoy supporting clients through anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I work best with clients who are open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences and who are looking to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. I adapt my approach to each person’s age, needs, and goals, and aim to create a space where clients feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely understood as they move toward growth at their own pace.
Integrative
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based methods and tailoring each session to your needs, goals, and experiences. My approach incorporates CBT, mindfulness, creative/art interventions and strengths-based approaches, while also considering the important role of relationships, environment, and personal history in your well-being. My style is collaborative, warm, and client-centered. I aim to meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe to explore challenges, build insight, and work toward growth and change that feels authentic to you.
Compassion Focused
I use compassion-focused approaches to help clients relate to themselves with more kindness and understanding, especially when dealing with self-criticism, shame, or stress. In our work together, I support clients in noticing unhelpful inner dialogue and gently shifting toward a more balanced and supportive way of responding to themselves. My goal is to help create a sense of emotional safety and self-compassion that makes growth feel more manageable.
Humanistic
My approach is humanistic as I aim to focus on genuine connection, presence, and meeting clients as they are. I create a supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. From that foundation, I help clients reconnect with their own strengths, values, and capacity for growth.
Play Therapy
I incorporate play therapy techniques when working with children to help them express thoughts and feelings in a developmentally appropriate way. Through play, creative activities, and symbolic expression, children are able to communicate experiences that may be difficult to put into words, allowing for greater emotional understanding, coping skill development, and connection within the therapeutic process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns and explore more balanced ways of thinking that support healthier coping and behavior changes.
