My name is Isai (E-sai-EE), and I’m a Therapist based out of Southern California. I have experience working with all ages and backgrounds. My training as a social worker focuses on individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. My professional interests and specialities include working with teens, young adults, older adults, family therapy, and those who struggle with anxiety, depression, marital/relationship issues, men’s issues, autism, anger management, and those with difficulty understanding/controlling big emotions. As a male therapist, I try to make my sessions feel like a conversation with a friend and offer a calm space to talk about difficult issues, a new perspective to help better understand situations, and can help you identify and understand how you might be feeling.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I like to leave it open to whatever you need. Whether it's diving right into what's bringing you into therapy, or taking some time to get to know each other and feel comfortable in the session. I know therapy can be overwhelming and can take time, so I always like to check in with what you need and what you're looking for.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Some of my strengths include being calm, accepting, welcoming, and creating a comfortable space to discuss difficult issues. I focus on your goals and what you think is the issue and try to help you understand yourself and make changes to be the person you want to be.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Some of my professional interests and specialities include working with teens, young adults, and older adults. Issues I consider my wheelhouse are those who struggle with anxiety, depression, autism, relationship issues, oppositional defiant disorder, marital/relationship issues, men's issues, anger management, and complex/severe mental health issues.

My treatment methods

Integrative

In my therapy sessions, I use an integrative approach—meaning I tailor our work to fit your unique needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. By drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and strength-based techniques, I’m able to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges, this flexible, personalized approach allows us to explore what works best for you—emotionally, mentally, and even somatically.

Strength-Based

In my therapy sessions, I take a strength-based approach, which means we focus on what’s already working in your life—your inner resources, resilience, values, and unique abilities. Instead of viewing you through the lens of what’s “wrong,” I help you reconnect with your strengths and build on them to face life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying negative thought patterns, challenging unhelpful beliefs, and creating healthier ways of thinking and responding. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or daily stress, CBT can help you gain clarity, build emotional resilience, and feel more in control of your life.

Trauma Informed Care

I use a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. I understand that many people carry the weight of past experiences—whether it’s from childhood, relationships, or major life events—and I create a space where you can feel supported, not judged.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, improving relationships, and staying grounded in the present moment. DBT is especially effective for those who struggle with intense emotional ups and downs, self-criticism, or feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns.
