Hello! My name is Cody and I'm currently licensed as an LCSW/therapist in Pennsylvania. I received by Bachelors degree from Coastal Carolina University in 2010 and then my Masters degree from Winthrop University in 2012. I began practicing while I was in graduate school so I'm currently on my 15th year of practice. My clinical background includes outpatient therapy, in-home therapy, integrated behavioral health and primary care, inpatient treatment, and forensic psychology. Since I've run a large span of different practices I consider myself a jack-of-all trades when it comes to mental health and therapy. Things I've treated most are depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA issues, trauma, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD. If you don't see your concern listed, don't hesitate to ask! I tell people often, I'm a come-as-you-are type therapist that likes to foster an open and comfortable environment. Together, we can identify what your concerns/goals are, find the best way to address them, monitor your progress, and adjust as needed.
In our first session we'll have introductions and get to know you better. This will include diving into the more recent concerns that may be bringing you to seek treatment but also diving into the past at times to understand how some things got set up for you. I encourage you to ask questions during the first session and will be sure to give you as much space as needed to do so. For follow up sessions, that's up to you! Life is unpredictable so your priorities and needs can and will shift - we'll make time for that. We'll always go back to your goals but these can be shifted and changed as you need.
I think my greatest strength is my ability to see you for you who are and meet you where you're at. I know all therapists remain judgment free but I strive to make sure you not only know it but feel it. What I think makes me unique is that I'm openly gay, a music lover, an animal lover, a tattoo connoisseur, I change my hair color like the wind (I'm a former Hot Topic kid - seriously, I ran two HTs in high school and undergrad), and have a great sense of humor. I've also walked the walk of therapy myself and know how hard it can be.
I love working with people that are willing to show up for themselves - that's it. I get immense reward from watching people learn about themselves, grow, and change because they *want* to. My only limitation is that I don't provide couples counseling.

Amazing therapist!!! Extremely knowledgeable, encouraging and open minded. Allows me to truly be myself and open up. Then, he provides me with the tools I need to manage my struggles. I also like that he gently calls me out when needed to bring me back to reality and focus on the facts.

Cody is the best therapist I've ever had! After years of working with various people I found Cody and it has changed my life. I honestly feel so much better, so well understood, so supported...I really could not ask for more. I have had so much to navigate and he's helped me do it with kindness, humor, and intelligence. He listens on the rambling days and challenges me on the days I need to dig deeper. I've told him things I've never been able to tell anyone. I'm so thankful for him.

I felt that his approach was very natural and safe. He met me where I was and didn't try to force anything.
