Hi, I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) based in California.
I have specialized training in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management, I am committed to empowering patients on their journey to mental wellness. My goal and approach is to apply therapeutic communication, holistic care, and collaboration to support recovery and lasting emotional health.
First session
In your first session, we will focus on getting to know you and your mental health history, current concerns, medical background, and goals for treatment. I’ll conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which may include questions about mood, sleep, stressors, and any past treatments. Together we will determine if treatment will be a good fit and if so, begin building a personalized care plan that may involve therapy, medication, or both.
Strengths
My greatest strengths as a provider are empathy, active listening, and a patient-centered approach. I want the concerns of my patients to be heard, understood and respected in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve adolescents, adults, older adults, and children 6 years or older experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, sleep disorders, and stress related disorders. My approach is especially effective for individuals seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore medication management in combination with therapeutic strategies.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The use of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy is helpful in addressing cognitive distortions and the reframing of negative thought patterns to help reduce anxiety and depression. Combining both psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy can improve a patients ability to address wide range of psychological conditions such as mood, anxiety, and trauma related disorders.
