Hello!! My name is Deena and I am in the middle of my 4th year as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing outpatient mental health treatment for a total of 8 years. I love working with my clients to help them see that their life does have meaning and to show them that they aren't defined by their problems. I can help with a range of difficulties including every day stressors, anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, anger issues, social concerns and other trauma related issues. I want to be able to help you get through the rough times so that you are able to see what all life has to offer!! I utilize a strengths-based approach that allows to see the positives in any situation. Therapy isn't something that is easy but once you learn the skills to work through the problems of now you will be able to sort out problems in the future as well! I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which can help your reprocess events that have happened in your life to reduce the traumatic effect it has!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Following sessions with me you will know what it feels like to be heard. I meet you where you are, not where society feels you should be. After being in treatment you'll have the ability to manage stressors at a more functional level and could resolve past traumas that are causing you to stall out where you are now. Coping skills and self care are also two of the biggest take aways from sessions that I conduct.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize a strength-based approach and meet you where you are currently. We discussed where you want to go. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness Skills, Positive Social Skills Building, journaling, positive coping skills, positive reinforcement, cognitive challenging, cognitive reframing-just to name a few.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel like the biggest strength that I have as a clinician is working with those who have experience trauma. One does not have to have all of the markers of PTSD to be living with their traumas on a daily basis. Through the use of EMDR I am able to help clients who have experienced trauma have the ability to reprocess those negative thoughts about the events and turn them in to positives. I also love working with clients to explore solutions to their day to day issues. Therapy is my passion and I treatment each client with dignity and respect.
