Welcome! I'm Temi. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, child rearing, parenting, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals and families for the past six years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with people of all ages. I have extensively worked with people with functional anxiety and depression, as well as parents of children ages 0-18. I am passionate about helping and educating parents when their children are young on child rearing and relationship building.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I’ve been using attachment-based theory in my practice for the past four years. It’s helped dozens of clients connect and build positive relationships with family members and others in their lives. We'll use attachment based- treatment to think about current and past relationships in your life and learn how to form close positive relationships with people in your life.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I’ve been using child parent psychotherapy in my practice for the past four years. It’s helped dozens of clients and their children explore the challenges in the home and in their relationships and rebuild their connections to one another. This also includes helping parents set loving boundaries and limits to encourage a deeper connection and bond between parent and child.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past six years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

It’s critical to create a space that includes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for all. I work hard to help all people feel comfortable and safe while addressing mental health.

Family Therapy

I've been using family therapy in my practice for four years. I focus on relationships among family members. Family therapy often includes addressing individual mental health or behavioral conditions, such as substance use disorder or oppositional defiant disorder. Family therapy can involve any combination of family members.
