Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where you can share at your own pace. We'll start by discussing what brought you to therapy, your concerns, and any goals you may have. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, life experiences, and what support you’re looking for. I will also review confidentiality, patient privacy, and mandated reporting, so you understand your rights and the limits of confidentiality in therapy. This session is a time for you to get a feel for my approach and ask any questions you may have. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported. We’ll work together to outline a plan for your healing journey, ensuring you feel comfortable and empowered moving forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have over 17 years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals navigate a wide range of challenges, including trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, sleep disturbances, ADHD, and more. My therapeutic approach is active and engaging, rooted in educating clients about the powerful connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify and address thinking patterns that may be keeping you stuck, working toward meaningful growth and greater flexibility in your life. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed to create lasting positive change.

Christian Counseling

I am a Christian-based therapist with over 17 years of experience helping individuals overcome challenges such as trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, sleep disturbances, ADHD, and more. In 2016, I graduated from ministry school, further deepening my understanding of faith-based approaches to healing. I authored a Christian-based curriculum in 2011 that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Theory to improve self-esteem, reduce depression and anxiety, heal family dysfunction, and address trauma. This curriculum has been a cornerstone of my practice, helping individuals and families find hope, healing, and lasting transformation. My approach is active and engaging, focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while incorporating spiritual principles. Whether you're seeking faith-integrated therapy or evidence-based tools for growth, I am here to support you on your journey to greater well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In addition to CBT, I have over 10 years of experience practicing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in both individual and group settings. DBT focuses on building skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Sessions often include teaching practical skills, practicing them in real time, and exploring how these tools can create meaningful changes in daily life. I have completed extensive training in DBT to address a variety of issues, from emotion dysregulation to relationship challenges.
