Liliana Diaz-Rodriguez
I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been practicing for 8 years. I graduated in 2016 from University of Phoenix with a Masters of Science in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy. I completed internship and specialized in working with children, adolescents and young adults. Currently, I serve young adults and adults (ages 18-64). My focus is to support clients with stressors that might include academics, communication, family issues, acculturation, etc.
First session
During our first session, I will ask what brings a client to therapy, what symptoms are impacting daily functioning. Being curious about what a client is seeking to accomplish while in therapy. I will respect what the client feels comfortable sharing and what they do not feel like they can share during this first meeting.
Strengths
I will meet clients where they are at. Always being mindful, respectful and open to feedback from clients is important to me to be able to provide best care.
Ideal clients
Supporting clients and accompanying them during this journey is an honor, for me, the ideal client is one that is open to learning, processing, reflecting on current and past experiences. Learning what their short and long term goals are to be able to create the best treatment plan that will aid the client in being successful.
Treatment methods
Strength-Based
In using strength based therapy I meet the client where they are at. I focus on client's straights and resources, while navigating and processing concerns or areas the client would like to focus on. I consider it to be an honor in accompanying clients in their journey and that they allow me to support it. With this modality, clients will identify, develop, and utilize existing strengths to improve their well-being and achieve their goals.
