LPC, 17 years of experience
My name is Samantha Brown and I have been working in the mental health counseling field for 18 years. I enjoy using my counseling experience to help adults. I like to use a strengths-based approach in treatment and look at the counseling process as a partnership and an opportunity for clients to actively learn about themselves and set attainable goals for the future. I also look at adversity as an opportunity for growth rather than a setback. I believe the counseling space is a safe place for people to be able to open up and talk about things that they may otherwise never have the opportunity or courage to share with another person.
The first session will be an opportunity for me to get to know you better. I will go over questions that help me to get background information. This involves client history as well as some family history.
I love to show unconditional positive regard to clients. I like to allow clients to be able to have a place where they are listened to rather than overlooked and unheard. I also enjoy being able to encourage clients in the counseling journey and assist in helping them to see accomplishments that they are making along the way.
I enjoy working with adults for individual counseling who are wanting to work on reaching attainable goals
