Hello. My name is Louis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia. I graduated from Liberty University in 2016 with my Masters in Professional Counseling. I have an extensive background in working with children, adolescents and adults on a wide variety of mental health conditions. In our first session, we will cover the topic of counseling. We can talk about expectations and fears. I will then complete an intake assessment to hear your history. I will then gather some goals that you want to work on. With those goals in mind, we will decide on a plan on how to make those goals a reality.
My greatest strength as a therapist is being able to hear where you are and hear where you want to go. Therapy is real life. It is fluid and because of that can be messy, but also very rewarding. It can be hard, but also very liberating. I like to think I am a personable person. I like to be bluntly honest, yet caring and compassionate.
I like working with clients who are motivated to make positive changes for themselves. I like working with younger adults to enhance their foundation and help them grow into the person they want to be.
I like to take an integrative approach to therapy. Using CBT allows me to meet my client where they are and assist them with where they want to be.
