Dr. Benjamin Sandler

LP, 14 years of experience

truggling with chronic pain or illness that feels like it’s taken over your life? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep pushing through it without support. I’m a chronic pain psychologist who helps adults understand the mind-body connection, learn science-based tools, and rebuild a life that feels meaningful, manageable, and truly theirs again. You’ve likely seen multiple providers, tried different treatments, and maybe even started to wonder if this is just how life has to be now. But pain is not just a physical experience—it’s deeply tied to our emotions, thoughts, stress, habits, and nervous system. And when we address those pieces together, change becomes possible. In our work, I’ll help you make sense of your pain—not in a way that blames you, but in a way that empowers you. Whether you’re dealing with back pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, joint pain, or a complex chronic condition, you’ll learn practical strategies to calm your nervous system, shift unhelpful patterns, and take back control over your life. If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck, feel understood, and work with someone who truly gets the complexity of living with chronic pain—I'm here to help you take the next step.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to explore your unique pain story—how it started, how it’s changed, what treatments you’ve tried, and how it’s affecting your day-to-day life. I’ll ask about your medical history, stress levels, sleep, mood, movement, and anything else that gives us a full picture of what you're dealing with. You’ll have space to share openly and feel heard, without judgment. I’ll also explain how chronic pain works in the nervous system, how mind-body therapy can help, and what our work together might look like. We’ll begin identifying goals and start building a personalized roadmap tailored to your needs. By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of your pain, some immediate tools to try, and a clear sense of next steps. This is your space—collaborative, compassionate, and focused on helping you get your life back.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider are blending science-backed strategies with genuine, compassionate care. I specialize in the psychology of chronic pain, so I understand both the physical and emotional toll it takes. I’m direct but supportive, focused on giving you tools that actually work—not just talk. Clients often say they feel seen, understood, and empowered in our work together. I help you reconnect with your body, shift unhelpful patterns, and build a life that isn’t ruled by pain.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You’ve been living with chronic pain for months or even years, and it's taken a toll on every part of your life. You might look like you’re holding it together on the outside—at work, with family, in daily routines—but inside, you’re exhausted, frustrated, and overwhelmed. You’ve tried physical therapy, injections, medications, and nothing seems to stick. Maybe you've been told it's "just stress" or "in your head," but you know it's real, and you're ready for a different approach. I work best with motivated adults who want to understand the mind-body connection, develop practical coping tools, and reclaim a sense of control. My clients are often high-achievers who feel stuck in a cycle of pain and burnout. If you're ready to learn strategies grounded in science—without toxic positivity or quick fixes—I'm here to help you shift from just surviving to truly living again.
