New to Grow
My name is Erika Ragland, LCSW and I have been working in mental health for 15 years. I grew up in a Military family and lived all over the world. The world is an incredibly beautiful and complex place full of wisdom and possibility. Life looks different for everyone, and no one's challenges are the same, but everyone can benefit from objective, honest communication and clinical expertise.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session I want to get to know you better. I will ask general demographic questions and learn more about what made you interested in talking to a therapist. I will ask you about your goals, for today and the future. We will talk about confidentiality and I will do my very best to answer any questions you may have.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I value honesty, compassion and use evidenced based practice in my work. I have a supportive cognitive behavioral style. I know that it is intimidating talking to a stranger about what is happening in your life. Therapy can be hard, but it is effective and will help reduce stress to focus on what is important to you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is evidence based treatment where one learns to challenge disordered thinking and thought processes for lasting behavioral change.
