New clients continue care with this provider

Hello! I’m Michele, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with decades of experience in working with clients on finding their best path forward. My career has been both as a therapist and coach in college and international athletics. My intention is to walk with you on your journey, providing insight and helping to identify areas to improve. I feel like my professional and personal life experiences have prepared me to meet clients where they are and allow them to feel comfortable with sharing the parts of themselves that they normally don’t share with others.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will discuss what it is that brings you to therapy. I will facilitate a conversation that explores your strengths as well as where you have struggled in the past. We will identify your initial goals and develop a tentative treatment plan so that you know what to expect moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m going to always be direct with you while also asking for your feedback so that we can work together. Progress takes patience and will not always be linear or easy, but I will help you to stay focused and working towards whatever your goal is for therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m looking for clients who feel stuck or who are worried about an upcoming transition in life but are ready and motivated to learn new skills and open to a potential shift in perspective.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Years of experience and hundreds of clients have shaped how I use this dynamic approach to work with a number of common problems such as self-concept, social anxiety, performance anxiety, and sleep issues. We will work together to find the thought and behavior patterns that best serve you, as well as work to overcome the patterns that have become problematic.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I like to complement treatment with a mindfulness approach, empowering clients to tap into, understand, and regulate complex emotions.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal counseling is all about helping the client to gain confidence in their ability to communicate effectively. All too often we make compromises to what is best for us or we become uncomfortable asserting our own needs. Healthy relationships of all kinds are based on good communication and the ability to listen for understanding. I have found that integrating this treatment modality has made some of the most significant improvements in quality of life for my clients.
