Hello, I am Elizabeth Chery! I'm bilingual in Haitian Creole, licensed LCSW with 7 years of experience providing therapy/counseling to clients in need. I earned my Bachelors in Psychology from Syracuse University and my Masters in Social Work from the University Of New England. I've worked in many different clinical settings ever since. I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal familial relationships.
Through clinical experience, compassion, and empathy I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives. I pride myself in providing a safe and supportive space, to work side by side to overcome traumas, and barriers.
I am friendly, empathetic and have a great sense of compassion . You can count on my empathetic and person-centered approach towards every conversation we take part on.
I love working with from all backgrounds, especially the Black and Brown community.
CBT places an emphasis on helping clients learn to be their own therapist. Through exercises in the session, clients are helped to develop positive coping skills.
I am to encourage the client's autonomy in decision making and I act as a guide, clarifying strengths and aspirations, listening to their concerns and boosting their confidence in their ability to change.
