New to Grow
I bring over 4 years of experience treating adolescents, young adults, and adults with a particular focus on anxiety, grief, adoption, trauma, and life transitions. I support my clients by collaborating to build resilience and teach coping skills in a supportive, understanding environment. I believe in meeting people where they are and that building the therapeutic relationship by using a collaborative and person-centered approach to therapy empowers clients to make changes that are necessary and will lead to client success. I approach building the therapeutic relationship with a sense of humor and down-to-earth nature. I am a firm believer that what works for one person may not work for the next, which is why I utilize various modalities such as motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness practice to name a few. I believe meaningful change comes from focusing on what’s within our control and utilizing skills to help cope. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share openly about what you’re going through. Reach out and take the first step! I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first therapy session with me focuses on creating a comfortable, supportive space where you can begin sharing your story at your own pace. I start by building rapport, helping you feel safe, heard, and respected. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the process, and any concerns or questions you may have about therapy itself. During this session, I also complete an intake process where I ask questions about your current challenges, personal history, relationships, mental health background, and any previous therapy experiences. This helps me better understand your unique experiences and strengths. Together, we begin identifying goals for therapy and discuss how we might work collaboratively to support your well-being moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of the strengths I bring to my therapeutic work is the depth of life experience that shaped my path to becoming a therapist. My professional journey was not a straight line, and that winding route has given me a broader perspective and a deeper appreciation for the complexity of people’s lives. Because of this, I approach clients with openness, curiosity, and respect for the many different paths people take. I also bring a genuine sense of humor into my work when it feels appropriate and supportive. Humor can help ease tension, build connection, and remind us that even in difficult moments there can be space for lightness and perspective. Together with my life experience, this allows me to create a therapeutic environment that feels authentic, human, and grounded—where clients feel comfortable being themselves while working toward meaningful change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I use CBT to help clients recognize automatic negative thoughts, challenge cognitive distortions, and develop practical coping strategies. Through collaborative exercises and skill-building, clients learn to change patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to distress, helping them improve mood, manage anxiety, and respond to challenges in healthier ways.
Grief Therapy
Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients gently explore the thoughts, feelings, and patterns that can intensify grief, including anxiety, guilt, anger, or numbness. Our work may focus on: Processing the emotional impact of loss Navigating complicated or prolonged grief Managing anxiety or depression connected to bereavement Adjusting to life transitions and identity changes after loss Rebuilding meaning and connection over time
Motivational Interviewing
n my practice, I use motivational interviewing by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly explore their goals, values, and challenges. Through reflective listening, open-ended questions, and collaborative dialogue, I help clients clarify their motivations and build confidence in their ability to make meaningful and sustainable changes.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I have experience using the Person-Centered Therapy approach, which emphasizes empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship. In my practice, I focus on creating a nonjudgmental and accepting environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. By deeply listening and reflecting their experiences, I help clients access their own inner resources and build greater self-awareness and personal growth.
Relational
In my practice, I use a relational approach by paying close attention to the therapeutic relationship itself as a space for insight and healing. Together, we explore patterns in how clients connect with others, communicate needs, and experience closeness or conflict. By developing awareness and practicing more authentic, supportive ways of relating, clients can build healthier relationships with others and with themselves.
