My therapy approach is always non judgmental, attuned, and integrates active listening as well as unconditional positive regard. In addition, my multicultural personal and professional backgrounds allow me to work with a variety of cultures. Also, I try my best to meet the client where they are and learn where it is they want to be/go in life. This allows me to assist them in accomplishing the aforementioned in compassionate, authentic, and realistic ways.
The first session is typically focused on getting to know your reasons for seeking therapy in a personalized and in depth way. Also, the 1st session will be utilized to become familiar with your preferences and comfort level.
I am down to earth, attentive, and dedicated to your growth and self-empowerment.
My ideal client is 18-62 years old . They are someone who is seeking a safe and non judgmental space for emotional support and to gain deeper understanding of themselves and how to accomplish their goals with therapeutic support. Also, they understand that effective therapy requires expressing their inner world after trust is established and possibly perspective taking and behavioral changes on their part as well. My therapeutic approach is gentle yet in alignment with universal and cultural realities so that a client can be equipped to make effective changes or practice acceptance within the realms of their/our current circumstances and human reality overall. Thus they can accept and or understand that change is necessary for learning, healing, and growing on all levels like social, familial, governmental etc; but most importantly and more controllable on an individual level.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Oftentimes there are a lot of emotions, beliefs, and attitudes that are in our subconscious that we would benefit from tapping into in order to process and address them effectively.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Our thoughts, emotions, and behavior are interrelated and influence one another. It’s important to become familiar with this aspect of human nature to gain better self understanding and self regulation.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Accepting where we currently are and that healing, growth, and or change require personal commitment are integral parts of therapy offering life changing benefits.

Shante was very sweet, and I felt comfortable speaking with her after just 15 minutes into our conversation. She was a great listener. She showed empathy towards my trauma and actually demonstrated compassion towards me. This was my first time speaking with someone about my mental health, and I am really thankful I got her as a therapist. I look forward to speaking with her again in the future!
