Hello, My name is Renlinda; I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of California. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I want to start off by saying, I encourage you to come as you are! In the first meeting, I will welcome you to the meeting and ask if you have any initial questions. Then will move forward to discussing limits of confidentiality and informed consent. The conversation will segue to the introductory piece, which will entail a series of questions as I try to get more familiar with you. Furthermore, we will discuss your 'why' for seeking treatment, your perception of issue, symptoms, coping skills, and what your expectations are regarding the therapeutic relationship and desired outcome.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I continuously strive to show up as my best self for clients at all times. My ability to simultaneously speak truth and exercise humility is one of my greatest strengths. I understand the client is the expert in the relationship. I am also humorous and authentic in delivery , as I am a firm believer in 'staying true to self.' I have curated a therapeutic process that builds off recognizing strengths, and highlighting introspection in the pursuit of self-development. I am impassioned about supporting people find resolve or at the very least manage through life's intricacies.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been a staple approach throughout my 5-year career in social work. The core concept of CBT is to identify and reframe distorted thinking as unhealthy thought patterns can precipitate dysregulation in emotions and actions. I use CBT to help clients effectively process thoughts and challenge those that are improbable.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused therapy is incorporated into my therapeutic approach by putting more emphasis on resolution rather than the problem. Often times problems are beyond one’s control, but there is a sense of liberation in the ability to shift focus and embrace resolute.

Positive Psychology

The modality focuses on optimizing the over-all well-being. Incorporated into therapeutic process there will be a large focus on positive emotions, engagement, relationships, finding meaning, and accomplishments. The primary focus is to identify what leads one existence as it can prompt effective ways to manage or correct psychological distortions and behaviors, in addition to promoting happiness. It is understood that equal attention should be allocated to suffering and well being with Positive Psychology placing more intent on the positive qualities of life.
