Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while discussing what brought you to therapy. This initial meeting allows me to learn more about your background, your current concerns, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. In addition to listening and gathering information, I typically provide an initial, objective overview of the patterns or themes I may be observing. Many clients find it helpful to leave the first session with a clearer perspective on what may be contributing to their current challenges. When appropriate, I may also suggest a small exercise or reflection between sessions to help you begin engaging with the therapeutic process. While I believe strongly in respecting each client’s pace and readiness, my goal is also to help clients begin moving toward insight and meaningful change as early as possible. I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of direction for the work we will be doing together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I approach my work with strong advocacy and commitment to my clients’ progress. I tailor treatment to the individual rather than trying to fit clients into a predetermined model, focusing on thoughtful questions that help clients clarify what is truly right for them. I also make myself available between sessions when there is a crisis or a need for guidance. Because much of my specialty work is informed by lived experience as well as clinical training, I bring both professional insight and practical understanding to the therapeutic process. Many clients maintain contact and check in years after completing therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Linda has worked with clients across the lifespan, with particular clinical strength in treating individuals with long-standing trauma related to various forms of abuse. Her work focuses on helping clients identify and understand longstanding behavioral and relational patterns, particularly those that developed as adaptations to trauma. Through treatment, she supports individuals who are motivated to engage in honest self-examination, develop healthier coping strategies, and replace maladaptive behaviors with more effective and constructive patterns that support long-term functioning and personal growth.
