Hello! My name is Naleah and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has experience working with adolescents and women who may be struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, stress management, to name a few. I completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Rutgers University and have over 7 years of experience in the mental health field. I provide an eclectic approach that incorporates an array of therapeutic modalities, including CBT and DBT strategies, mindfulness techniques, play therapy techniques and solution focused strategies. I know the idea of going to therapy can be a new and scary venture for a lot of people which is why I believe having a strong foundation and connection with your therapist is a key component to success in your therapeutic process. With this being said, I plan to meet you where you are and tailor your therapeutic experience to you! I look forward to working with as you heal and grow!
In our first session, I will also ask historic questions related to your family history, mental and physical health, relationships, past and current environment and spiritual factors. Our first session is structured to allow me to gain an understanding of your symptoms and perceived needs in order to establish your therapeutic goals. At the end of our first session, I want you to leave feeling heard, hopeful and ready to jump start your therapeutic journey!
I believe as a provider one of my greatest strengths is my ability to adapt. Throughout my time working in the mental health field, I've made it a point to gain experience and knowledge in a variety of settings that serve different populations. I've learned the importance of a tailored experience in therapy and how it can enhance client progress.
I believe you get what you put into your therapeutic journey. I work best with clients who are committed to making a change for themselves! Making the decision to start therapy is the first step of the journey and for some people that can be a very challenging commitment. I work with my clients to establish goals that will promote progress and provide them with tools that help equip them to implement change. Change is not linear and looks different for everyone which is why I make it a point to get to know my clients and what they feel their needs are. I am committed to creating a safe environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing your personal thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
