LMFT (she/her)8 years of experience

I am a first‑generation Vietnamese American therapist with eight years of clinical experience supporting individuals as they navigate identity, healing, and personal growth. My work is deeply shaped by my own lived experience such as growing up between cultures, carrying intergenerational stories, and learning how to honor both resilience and vulnerability. Because of this, I am especially passionate about working with first‑generation clients, Asian American communities, and those within the LGBTQIA+ community who are seeking a space where all parts of themselves can be seen and understood. I specialize in working with young adults who are trying to make sense of their mental health, their upbringing, and the patterns that shape their relationships and sense of self. Many of my clients come to me during moments of transition—stepping into independence, questioning long‑held beliefs, or trying to break cycles that no longer serve them. I approach therapy with curiosity, cultural humility, and a belief that insight becomes powerful when it’s paired with compassion. My goal is to help clients understand not only what they’re feeling, but why and what possibilities open up when they begin to rewrite their own narrative. Over the years, I’ve seen how transformative it can be when someone finally feels understood in the context of their culture, identity, and lived experience. I strive to be a grounding presence in that process, offering both gentle reflection and meaningful challenge when it supports growth.

First session

I approach this first session with curiosity, cultural humility, and a commitment to honoring all the identities and experiences you bring into the room. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Many clients come in unsure of where to begin and that’s completely okay. I’ll guide the conversation with gentle questions to help us understand what you’re hoping to work on, whether it’s navigating your mental health, unpacking your upbringing, exploring identity, or making sense of patterns in your relationships.

Strengths

What sets my work apart is the way I blend cultural attunement, identity‑affirming care, and deep relational presence. As a first‑generation Vietnamese American therapist, I bring a lived understanding of what it means to navigate multiple worlds, carry family expectations, and make sense of intergenerational narratives. I draw from evidence‑based approaches, but I don’t believe therapy is one‑size‑fits‑all. Instead, I tailor the work to each person’s story, weaving together exploration, emotional processing, and practical tools. I help clients understand the “why” behind their patterns so they can make intentional choices rather than operate from old survival strategies.

Ideal clients

Young adults or young professionals that are experiencing the transitional life stressors. Young adult clients who are motivated to grow and committed to growth and betterment. Preferably those with a flexible schedule. I'm a first generation Vietnamese-American who identifies within the LGBTQIA+ community and I would love to get a chance to work with clients who may be able to relate to my background.

Treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Integrating a client's cultural background, instead of treating culture as an afterthought. I am a believer that people's beliefs, communication styles, family roles, identity, and experiences with power or discrimination all shape how they understand their problems and what “healing” looks like.
