(she/her)
Hello my name is Courtney Jackson and I am a licensed clinical social worker from North Carolina. I currently live in Arlington, Texas and have worked in mental health since 2012. I thoroughly enjoy helping others find peace, balance, and the understanding they desire from the therapy space. I have had the privilege to work with: United States veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, children with emotional/behavioral issues as well as adult men and women with various mental health conditions including; childhood trauma, depression, anxiety etc.
During our first session, I will be getting to know the client and their issues. I will seek to understand why other mental health professionals may have failed them and what they want to get out of their experience.
I speak from the heart and I am upfront & honest about what I believe to be the issue(s). I have a nurturing approach to therapy but will help my clients to understand their power in changes their lives for the better.
My ideal clients are those who understand their issues, want to work towards healthier patterns, and are willing to do the work necessary to feel better.
As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I encourage clients to express their thoughts and beliefs in their own voice and vernacular as well as integrate spiritual or faith-based elements, if aligned with the client’s worldview. I utilize CBT tools to uncover not just negative thoughts, but also the strengths clients use to overcome adversity.
