I’ll ask questions to better understand your background and experiences, and I’ll also explain how I work and what you can expect from our sessions together. The first session is about building rapport, ensuring you feel heard and comfortable, and setting the foundation for our work together.
Strengths
I believe my greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to be personable and create a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable and understood. I strive to build strong, authentic connections with each person I work with, allowing them to feel safe in sharing their thoughts and emotions. This genuine connection fosters trust and collaboration, which are essential for effective therapy and meaningful growth.

Treatment methods

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and change patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to their emotional difficulties. We work together to identify negative thought patterns, challenge them, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. This approach is structured and goal-oriented, focusing on empowering you to take control of your thoughts and actions for lasting positive change.
Compassion-Focused
In my practice, I incorporate Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop self-compassion and reduce self-criticism. This approach focuses on nurturing a compassionate mindset, both towards oneself and others, which can alleviate feelings of shame and promote emotional healing. We work together to cultivate a sense of kindness and understanding, enabling you to approach life's challenges with greater resilience and inner peace.
Racial trauma treatment
In my practice, I provide racial trauma treatment to support individuals who have experienced the psychological and emotional impact of racism and discrimination. This approach involves creating a safe and validating space where you can explore and process these experiences. We work together to address the unique stressors related to racial trauma, empowering you with coping strategies and fostering resilience. My goal is to help you heal and reclaim your sense of identity and well-being.
Child-Parent Psychotherapy
of the relationship between you and your child. This approach focuses on understanding and addressing the emotional needs of both the child and parent, particularly in the context of trauma or stress. Through our work together, we aim to improve communication, build trust, and foster a secure and nurturing environment that promotes your child's emotional well-being and development.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In my practice, I incorporate mindfulness-based techniques to help you become more present and aware of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. By cultivating mindfulness, you can develop a greater sense of calm and clarity, allowing you to respond to life’s challenges with more intention and less reactivity. This approach supports emotional regulation and enhances your overall well-being by helping you stay grounded in the present moment.
