I am based in Pennsylvania and received my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020. I received my LPC in 2023. I have been working in the helping professions, such as case management, family based therapist, addictions therapist and mental health therapist, since 2003. I love working with individuals to help them overcome barriers in their lives that are preventing them from having the lives they want and can feel healthy and happy!
In the first sessions with me I try to learn about the individual. I want to learn more about who they are, what experiences they have had and what their goals are for themselves moving forward. I will be active in the discussions and listen most importantly! I will be curious about what events or situations in the individuals past have caused them to not make the success they had planned for. I will respect the boundaries put into place by the individual as far as asking about different subjects so as not to overwhelm or upset the individual. I will always be respectful and ask the individual to work with me on developing the treatment to meet their needs.
I am respectful first and foremost. I understand the importance of boundaries and love helping and empowering individuals to develop their own boundaries. I am able to help people feel comfortable and safe to talk openly and honestly about their experiences without fear of judgement or retribution.
I love working with individuals who want to make changes in their lives. I want to help those individuals find out who they are and how to be the best version of themselves. I love helping people discover easier ways to be present in their lives and overcome the difficulties that prevent success.
I utilize CBT, and other treatment modalities to help the client learn about the connection between their feelings and thoughts. I assist in developing the motivation to make changes based off their understanding of their feelings and thoughts.
I explore with the client their motivation to make changes, or not, and identify interventions that are appropriate and practical for them to implement based off the discussions in motivational interviewing.
