Hi there, I'm Jacquelyne! I have been a licensed social worker for about 5 years and have experience with inpatient, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment settings. I have worked with clients that have struggled with substance abuse and mental health symptoms for about 8 years and I have transitioned that experience into a virtual outpatient setting with this private practice to help build more long-term supportive relationships with clients. I have seen firsthand the power of treating mental health symptoms in a supportive environment and I would love to be a part of your journey! "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves" -Viktor Frankl
Reaching out for help and seeking therapy can bring up a mixture of emotions, this is the first step in taking care of YOU and it's worth giving yourself praise. In our sessions together, I will listen to you and help you develop more compassionate thought patterns and actions for yourself. Let's work through this together!
I empathize with clients on a personal level due to my lived experience with mental health struggles. My journey has led me to become a therapist. One of my greatest joys in life is being able to help clients reach their goals in a supportive environment. I like to keep things light and use humor to help build rapport with my clients as well. Feeling comfortable with your therapist is important to share personal and vulnerable feelings that are difficult to share.
Do you feel a loss of control in your life? Are you overwhelmed and find difficulty finding motivation? Do you think of the past and future often? I empower people to find a balance in their life while continuing to take care of their own needs. I love to challenge thoughts and core beliefs, which can be the root of your struggles. I aim to create actionable steps you can do to take control of your life while building your self-esteem. I incorporate mindfulness practices to help remain in the moment and emphasize the importance of self-care.
