As a multi-tasking Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Director, and mother of 5, I understand how the trials and tribulations of everyday life stressors can accumulate and wear one down. My primary goal as a clinician is to provide a safe environment where an individual can process stress, explore interpersonal relationships, and life goals to be re-energized by a life worth living, empowered over self-doubt and be able to reach one's potential. I am passionate about trauma-informed care and understand the importance of utilizing evidenced-based practices. With over 15 years of experience working in Community Behavioral Health, I have worked with individuals from varying backgrounds, large age ranges, and a spectrum of diagnoses.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My practice is best suited for individuals who are seeking meaningful change and are open to engaging in a collaborative therapeutic process. Ideal clients may be experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, or life transitions, and are looking to better understand themselves and develop more effective ways of coping. I work well with individuals who are willing to explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and who are open to learning and practicing new skills outside of sessions. Many of my clients benefit from structured, skills-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), particularly when they are motivated to apply these tools in their daily lives. My ideal client does not need to have everything figured out or be in a stable place to begin therapy. In fact, I often work with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start—but who are willing to show up, be honest, and engage in the work at their own pace. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences while also being gently challenged toward growth. This approach is especially helpful for individuals who value both validation and accountability in the therapeutic process. Ultimately, my practice is a good fit for clients who are ready—whether cautiously or confidently—to move toward greater self-awareness, emotional stability, and a more fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Trained and certified by the Beck institute for CBT in Philadelphia, I utilize principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a core component of my clinical work. CBT is an evidence-based, structured, and goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I collaborate with clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, core beliefs, and behavioral responses that may contribute to distress. Together, we work to challenge and reframe these patterns while developing more adaptive coping strategies. This process often includes skill-building, psychoeducation, and between-session practice to support real-world application. My approach to CBT is flexible and individualized. While CBT provides a structured framework, I integrate it with other therapeutic perspectives as clinically appropriate and tailor interventions to each client’s needs, strengths, cultural context, and goals.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Trained by Psychwire with Marsha Linehan, and previous DBT Leader of a Comprehensive DBT program with 6 years experience, I incorporate principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my clinical work to support individuals in developing effective skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and increasing overall stability. DBT is an evidence-based treatment that balances acceptance and change. In my practice, I help clients build insight into their emotional and behavioral patterns while also teaching concrete skills to navigate distress and respond more effectively to challenging situations. Core areas of focus include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. My approach emphasizes a collaborative and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship. I work with clients to validate their experiences while also encouraging meaningful behavioral change. Sessions may include structured skill development, problem-solving, and the application of DBT strategies to real-life situations.

Trauma Informed Care

With extensive experience in behavioral health and a specialty working with children and families with trauma history, my clinical work is grounded in the principles of trauma-informed care, an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and emphasizes creating a safe, respectful, and empowering therapeutic environment. Trauma-informed care is informed by an understanding of how experiences such as abuse, neglect, loss, violence, and systemic stress can affect emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. Rather than asking “What is wrong with you?”, this approach shifts the focus to “What has happened to you?” and how those experiences continue to shape current functioning. In my practice, I prioritize safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, and choice. I am mindful of the potential for re-traumatization and work to ensure that all aspects of treatment—from communication style to clinical interventions—support a sense of control and stability for the individual. I integrate trauma-informed principles with evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adapting interventions to meet each client’s readiness, strengths, and goals. Treatment may include building coping and grounding skills, enhancing emotional regulation, processing traumatic experiences when appropriate, and strengthening resilience. I recognize the role of cultural, social, and systemic factors in shaping trauma experiences and aim to provide care that is culturally responsive and inclusive. Clients are viewed as the experts of their own experiences, and therapy is a collaborative process guided by their pace and preferences. The goal of trauma-informed care in my practice is to support healing, restore a sense of agency, and help individuals move toward a more stable and meaningful life.
