Hi! I'm Dana, a licensed therapist (LPC) in Philadelphia for adults who are tired of the way their past experiences keep impacting the way they show up in the present, who feel like their feelings are "too much", and who get stuck overthinking everything but are unable to change in the ways they'd like. If you're struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues and/or low self esteem; I'm here to tell you that there isn't anything 'wrong' with you. You aren't broken, you have simply learned to cope in ways that are no longer serving you. You don't need to be labeled or pathologized, you need to be supported by someone who actually gets you.
In our sessions together you can expect me to show up with warmth, curiosity, direct honesty and a bit of a humor. I don't use a curated approach or "therapist" persona but rather authenticity and real human reactions. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable to come as you are without censoring yourself. Cursing, oversharing and messy feelings about your family/partner/best friends are all welcome here. As far as I'm concerned there's no such thing as TMI.
I prioritize building the type of therapeutic alliance with my clients that creates a space where they can say the quiet parts out loud without judgement, where the loneliness they hide can come to light, where the feelings they minimize are recognized and validated, and where the heavy stuff can finally be put down.
I work best with clients who are ready to do the work both in and out of sessions.
Eclectic
I prefer to blend various modalities and techniques in order to meet the needs of each individual. This allows for treatment to be customized and intentional, and for clients to make the most of each session based on what works for them.
Somatic
Insight is important but it only takes you so far. Major shifts happen when you stop thinking about your experiences and start actually feeling it - the tightness, the heaviness, the restlessness. That's where the clarity lives.

I like how caring Dena was right off the bat. She knows the struggle of grief and is wanting to hear all about my parents. I also like how she makes me feel comfortable talking about my grief.
