Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will introduce ourselves and we will focus on the reasons why the client is seeking therapy. History, past experiences with therapy, and hopes of what the client hopes to gain from therapy will be discussed. The pacing of this process will depend on client comfort as my approach is client-centered.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I utilize minduflness-based therapy to help people develop greater capacity for insight. Awareness is one of the greatest allies in the journey towards healing.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a evidence-based practice that works particularly well in cases involving depression and anxiety. I've utilized this model quite significantly over the years and believe in its success.

Attachment-based

Attachment is a central mechanism through which we understand ourselves and the world around us. Attachment-based approaches are significantly helpful in uncovering deeper parts of the self.

Psychodynamic

Understanding the present requires us to understand parts of our past. Psychodynamic therapy relies on individual history to draw interpretations of how events throughout our life have led to certain patterns of behavior and expression.

Maz is such a great therapist. I was sceptical about therapy before I started working with him, but now I feel that I made the right decision. He is very knowledgeable and has a personal approach.

Re-entering therapy is always an unnerving experience, but I felt seen, heard and supported by Maz. What I appreciate is how he reflected back to me my experience but in a more seamless and straight forward way. What I most appreciate is his honest assessment of what kind of therapy and resources I should look for to support my journey and how he can support / where seeking additional support would be beneficial.
